SPORTMASSAGE
(Sports) massage keeps the athlete and non-athletes healthy and injury free.
Sports massage is for athletes and non-athletes. It facilitates recovery, prevents sports injuries and contributes to a more effective training and better sporting performance.
Sports massage can be applied at four moments:
One or a few days after a workout or competition
Prior to a sporting activity where they are part of the warming-u
In between, for example during a tournament or relay
Direct as part of the cool down within a few hours after a sporting activity.
In my practice I focus mainly on the "prophylactic" sports massage: a fancy word for a recovery-enhancing sports massage after exercise.
By a training and/or athletic performance the body will be more or less damaged. By a sportsmassage the body is assisted in the repair so that it can perform better and better.
A good masseur has got 'Fingerspitzengefuhl'.
The masseur is considered to take the responsibility for assisting athletes with advice on nutrition, training approach and care of the body. The masseur will massage after a training and / or competition to reduce or even to prevent muscle stiffness.
As the training frequency will be increased, the need for a for massage will be bigger, because the body has less time to recover. In such cases, massage can accelerate the recovery process and support.
